#8. Kapre
a legendary monster eminently known as the tree giant that smokes tobacco is described as a huge as a 2-story building, hairy, dark-skinned fiend quiescent in an aged large tree (Balete,Santol or Narra Tree). The Mythical Creature is also known to be friendly; folklore stories tell that the Kapre can only be seen by children, befriend kids and plays with them.
The term Kapre is derived from the word “Kaffir” which means non-believer in Islam, Elders would say that the Kapre was once a human and was cursed by God for his dreadfulness.
